M2@DCJ 2010 TECH FEST ORGANISED BY PG DEPARTMENT OF COMPUTER SCIENCE & I.T

The Post Graduate Department of Computer Science & I.T. organized M2@DCJ-2010 Tech Fest (Master Minds at Doaba College Jalandhar) in the Doaba College, Jalandhar.  Dr. Inderjit Singh – Registrar GNDU, Amritsar graced the occasion as Chief Guest, Sh. Alok Sondhi- Gen. Secretary- College Managing Committee presided over the function, Sh. Rajinder Mayor- Treasurer graced the function as guest of honour.   The dignitaries were accorded a hearty welcome by Principal Dr. Naresh Kumar Dhiman, HOD Prof. Pardeep Bhandari, Staff and students.  Students from 15 colleges from Punjab from different regions- Gurdaspur, Kapurthala, Nakodar, Ludhiana, Phagwara and Jalandhar and 10 schools from Jalandhar participated in various events like Poster Presentation, Choreography, Group Dance, Paper Presentation, Software Shocase, IT Collage, Group Discussion, Mimicry etc in M2@DCJ-2010 Tech Fest.
Following were the result in different categories : Paper Presentation for schools KMV Sanskriti School first, Jalandhar Model School Second and KMV Sanskriti School Third, Group Discussion Lyallpura Khalsa College First, S.D.College Second and Kamla Nehru Third, Paper Presentation KMV First, B.D. Arya Second, HMV Third, IT Collage Making HMV First, KMV Second, Kamla Nehru Third, Poster Making HMV First, Govt. Arts Sports College Second, Kamla Nehru Third.   Renowned comedian and old student Deepak Raja and enthralled the students with his lively performance.
The winning teams were awarded mementos and certificates by Sh. Alok Sondhi Sh. Rajinder Mayor and Principal Dr. Naresh Kumar Dhiman in the prize giving away ceremony.  The staff and students were present on the occasion.

 The 59th convocation of Doaba College, Jalandhar was held on December 14, 2009 at Virendra Auditorium in Doaba College, Jalandhar.   Dr. Iqbal Singh, Lt. The Post Graduate Department of Computer Science & IT organized an Extension Lecture on "Natural Language Processing" on 21st November 2009 in Multimedia Hall. Dr. G.S. Lehal, Professor & Head, Department of Computer Science, Punjabi University, Patiala was the key speaker for the lecture.

The Post Graduate Department of Computer Science & I.T organized an Extension Lecture on "Machine Translation System" on 14th Nov,2009 in Multimedia Hall. Sh. Vishal Goyal, Sr. Lecturer, Department of Computer Science, Punjabi University, Patiala was the speaker for the lecture.

The Postgraduate Department of Computer Science & I.T scaled new tech-heights with Inauguration of new Computer Lab on 11.11.2009. The lab incorporates Virtual Desktop Sharing Environment with the use of High-End Xeon Servers. The lab has been specially designed to provide postgraduate students the first hand experience of latest technology being used in the industry. Inauguration was done by Sh. Chander Mohan, President, Doaba College, Managing Committee and Principal Dr. Naresh Kumar Dhiman. Prof Pardeep Bhandari, Head, Prof. Mandeep Singh Bahra, Prof Naveen Joshi along with other staff members were present on this occasion
