Doaba College, Jalandhar is one of the oldest Multi-Faculty Postgraduate Co-educational Primer Institution of North India. It was founded on January 1, 1941 by great visionary and philanthropist Sh. Bindraban Sondhi to imart quality education on the principles of Arya Samaj in Doaba region. Social reformers like Rai Bahadur Badri Dass and philanthropist Sh. Jagan Nath Mittal later contributed towards the development of this august institution. The foundation of Doaba College was laid to promote the study of classical Sanskrit, Hindi, and teachings of Vedic Dharma, Gandhian values and to promote the philosophy of Maharishi Dayanand Sarswati, Thus the primary mission of these philanthropists was to imart value based quality education for transforming Indian youth into good human beings. It was conceived as a part of the national movement for freedom with education as a potent means to arouse public opinion to fight against the imperialism and safeguard the rich cultural heritage of India. Its mission and objective was to enlighten the youth and make them vigilant citizens of the society.
The institution has constantly flourished under the dynamic leadership of earlier Rai Bahadur Badri Dass, Seth Stya Paul, Sh. Balbir Raj Sondhi, and Sh. Virendra Ji, Nationalist and Freedom Fighter. Now it is progressing and touching new heights of glory under the able guidance and dynamic leadership of Sh. Chander Mohan, President of Arya Shiksha Mandal and the Managing Committee of Doaba College.
