DOABA COLLEGE, JALANDHAR

The Commerce Association is an Association of Commerce students. The CommerceAssociation conducts various activities concerned with the overall personality development of the students. All programmes and activities conducted by the Department of Commerce are totally managed by the student members of the Association. CommerceAssociation provides a platform to the students to exhibit their talent and creativity in various curricular and extracurricular activities conducted by the Department of Commerce.

Every student of the Commerce Department is the member of Commerce Association. The Association is functioning through the executive committee of elected members from the students of various classes. This committee is headed by the President which is chosen by senior most class of the Department and followed by Vice President and Secretary. This committee is further sub divided into four committees namely Discipline Committee, Refreshment Committee, Cultural Committee and Decoration Committee. Students from each class are selected to be a part of these committees on the basis of merit. All the designated tasks are performed by the student members of these committees.

Aims and Objectives of Commerce Association:

1. To inculcate leadership and decision making skill among the students.
2. To build self confidence and overall personality development of the students.
3. To develop team spirit and a sense of responsibility among students.
4. To give practical exposure to the students by organizing various activities.

Activities and Achievements:

Since its formation, the Commerce Association is actively involved in organizing various events and programs for the students like:

• To organize guest lectures, seminars, expert talks on current affairs in business, industry etc.
• To organize industrial visits, educational tours and trips for the students.
• To conduct orientation programs.
• To carry out social welfare activities.
• To organize various extracurricular activities in the Department like poster making, business quiz, debates, declamation etc.
Besides this, students of commerce association represent the college in various competitions held in different colleges and win accolades for the departments.
