The Student Welfare Committee of Doaba College Jalandhar celebrated 74th Republic Day and Basant Panchami with great enthusiasm and gaiety on 26th January 2023. Principal Dr. Pradeep Bhandari graced the occasion as the chief guest. He was accorded a hearty welcome by Coordinators, Prof. SurjitKaur& Prof. Sonia Kalra. The ceremony commenced with the unfurling of the National flag and the National Anthem. Principal Dr. Pradeep Bhandari addressed the august gathering and appraised them about the relevance of Republic Day and Basant Panchami. He threw light on the meanings of Swatantrat and Ganatantra and urged everyone to work for the progress of the country by performing one's duties and responsibilities in spite of the challenges.
Event Title - Clean DCJ campaign
Event Date - 21st & 22nd October 2022
Student Welfare Committee and Cleanliness Committee of Doaba College Jalandhar organized 3 days Clean DCJ Drive on the theme Team up to Clean up. The campaign was organized to sensitize the students about the importance of cleanliness for keeping their surroundings clean and green. Principal Dr. Pardeep Bhandari visited every classroom in the college campus along with Prof. Sonia Kalra-Convener and Dr.OminderJohal, staff and students. Students showcased their creativity by decorating their classrooms with beautiful rangoli patterns and walls with thought provoking quotations and colorful chart papers.Principal Dr. Pardeep Bhandari appreciated the efforts of students for decorating their classrooms and surroundings beautifully. Principal Dr. Pardeep Bhandari said that primarily this drive would motivate the students to propagate the much-needed philosophy of dignity of labour.
Event Title - Teachers’ Day Celebration

The Student Welfare Committee of Doaba College, Jalandhar celebrated Teachers’ Day under the dynamic leadership of Principal Dr. Pardeep Bhandari. The event began with the lighting of a lamp by Chief Guest Dr. Pardeep Bhandari along with faculty members. The students made the programme colourful by presenting songs, poems and dances dedicated to the worthy teachers. Various fun games like surprise test and musical chair were also organized to entertain the teachers. The teachers also enjoyed the title songs based on their personalities. The Chief Guest of the day in his speech laid stress on the responsibility of being a teacher for the society. At the end, he congratulated and thanked the students and convenors of the student welfare committee to make the event a memorable one.
Event Title - Independence Day Celebration

The 76th Independence Day was celebrated by the teaching, non-teaching staff and students of Doaba College in open air theatre with great enthusiasm. The day was special as the whole nation proudly celebrated AzadiKa Amrit Mahotsav on completion of 75 years of India’s independence. The ceremony started with the arrival of Principal Dr. Pardeep Bhandari who hoisted the national flag along with NCC cadets, students and staff members. The proud moment was followed by the National Anthem. The students expressed their emotions in the form of patriotic songs and dance performances by Aanchal, Bhavika& group, DCJ Collegiate School’s students and song by Tejas echoed the whole atmosphere with the feelings of love and pride for the country. There was also a pledge taking ceremony conducted by head girl Rashi to uphold the sovereignty and integrity of the country and a pledge against Drug Abuse for the students. The ceremony ended with a highly motivational speech by Principal Dr. Pardeep Bhandari who not only threw light on the long and consistent efforts put in by freedom fighters for the country but also urged the students for collective consciousness to achieve collective excellence.

The holy HavanYajna to mark the beginning of the new session was organized on August 10, 2022 in the Virendra Auditorium. The occasion was graced by Mr. Chander Mohan, President Arya ShikshaMandal and Doaba College Managing Committee, Jalandhar. Principal,DrPardeep Bhandari welcomed every one and informed the new students that this havan marks the beginning of the 82nd session of the college. The President expressed the sincere hope that the new session enables all the students to realize their potential so that their dreams are fulfilled. He advised the young generation to be aware, conscientious and hardworking. He gave the example of recent commonwealth games in which players from humble backgrounds had made the country proud. He also advised the students to keep their traditions alive and to mould their life according to modern times.

The Student Welfare Committee and Health and Well Being Committee of Doaba College Jalandhar organized an Online Seminar on "Stress Management during Exam Days" under the aegis of 'Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat' on June 12, 2022. Prof. Priya Chopra briefed the audience about the importance of organizing this seminar. She referred to the interaction of Prime Minister Narendra Modi with the young students. The event was made very interactive by involving students from different faculties whose queries were answered by event coordinators Prof. SurjitKaur and Dr. Suresh Mago, Organizing Secretaries Prof. Sukhwinder Singh, Prof. Neha Gupta and teachers from different Departments. The College Principal, Dr. Pardeep Bhandari, highlighted the aim of College Management to provide an environment for the success of students. He responded to the queries of the students by giving tips to make notes in their own hand and visualize their success.
Event Title - ‘Mom & Me’ Mother’s Day Celebration

‘Mom & Me’, an online Mother’s Day celebration was organised by Student Welfare Committee, Doaba College, Jalandhar. The enthusiastic participation of mothers of students added an inconceivable vibrance to the entire event. Dr. Pardeep Bhandari , Principal, Doaba College was also present along with his mother Mrs. Kusum Bhandari ji. He greeted all the mothers pressent in the event and said that our existence in this world is because of our mother and we are always indebted to our mother for her unconditional love and support.Mrs. Kusum Bhandari, mother of Principal Dr. Pardeep Bhandari sang a very melodious bhajan to seek the blessings of Almighty and spread positivity in the whole atmosphere. Mothers were also entertained with games like ‘Bollywood Queen and ‘Bujho To Jane’. Students too expressed their emotions towards their mothers by presenting beautiful poems, dances , greeting cards and songs.
Event Title - Celebration of MatribhashaDiwas
Event Date - 21st Feb 2022
Student Welfare Committee of Doaba College, Jalandhar organized intra-college online competitions of declamation, folk dance and folk song on MatribhashaDiwas. This day is celebrated every year on 21st February (as declared by UNESCO) to promote the use of mother language and to highlight the linguistic diversity of our country. There were enthusiastic registrations by the students from various departments for all competitions.The students submitted their recorded videos on various themes as per the event guidelines. The finest videos were shortlisted by a judgement panel from the college on the basis of content, articulation, voice modulation, presentation etc. and were uploaded on the official facebook page of the college.

D C Collegiate Sr. Sec. School and Student Welfare Committee of Doaba College celebrated 73rd Republic Day in virtual mode with great fervour and enthusiasm. Principal, Dr.PardeepBhandari in his address highlighted the importance of Republic Day and encouraged the students to abide by the fundamental rights and duties conferred by the Constitution of our country. A cultural program including patriotic dance, songs, poems, rangoli, collage and portraits by the students made the celebration colourful. Oath taking ceremony to commemorate National Voters’ Day was performed by Prof Surjeet Kaur. She also thanked the principal, faculty members and the students for their active participation to make this event successful.

In order to commemorate the Birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, ‘National Unity Day’ (Rashtriya Ekta Diwas) was observed and a Pledge taking ceremony was organized today by the Student Welfare Committee at Doaba College, Jalandhar. Prof. Sonia Kalra (Coordinator, Student welfare Committee) apprised everyone about the purpose of celebrating National Unity Day along with the contribution of the Iron Man of India, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel for the National integration, Unity and Security of India.
Principal Dr. Pardeep Bhandari in his address stressed upon the fact that Unity is the strength of every country. He motivated the students to follow the path adopted by Iron Man and work with full devotion and dedication for the progress of the country. He also inspired them to spread this message among the countrymen and to ensure the internal security of the country. Prof. Surjeet Kaur (Coordinator, Student welfare Committee) conducted the pledge taking ceremony to mark the occasion.
Event Title - Clean DCJ Campaign

The Student Welfare Committee of Doaba College organized “Clean DCJ Campaign” from 26 Oct, 2021 to 30 Oct, 2021 with the motto “Team up to clean up”. The campaign was inaugurated by Principal Dr. Pardeep Bhandari. Students of all the departments along with support staff participated whole heartedly in this drive. Students showed great commitment and enthusiasm in this drive by cleaning their classrooms with the help of support staff. Principal visited various departments namely Computer Science & IT, Journalism & mass communication, commerce block, Science block, PG block to mention a few. Painting and thought provoking quotes on boards by students added a new dimension to this campaign. In the concluding ceremony of the drive, the support staff was honored by the Principal for their dedication and untiring efforts to keep the surroundings clean.Convenors of Student Welfare Committee Prof. Surjit Kaur & Prof. Sonia Kalra and Head Cleanliness Committee Dr. Ominder Johal Jointly administered the whole campaign.

Shubharambh 2021-22 (Hawan Yajna) was organized in the Virendra auditorium of the college to mark the commencement of a new academic session. Honorable chief guest Sh. Chander Mohan Ji, President Arya Shiksha Mandal & Doaba College Managing Committee graced the occasion. Hawan yajna was performed to seek the blessings of Almighty in which a worthy chief guest, principal Dr. Pardeep Bhandari, teaching, non teaching staff & students participated. Chief Guest Sh. Chander Mohan Ji welcomed the new entrants & encouraged them to empower themselves with new skills to keep pace with the changing world. Principal Dr. Pardeep Bhandari in his inspiring speech motivated students to focus on the mantra of honesty, discipline, dedication & innovation to reach the pinnacles of success in their lives. Vote of thanks was extended by Prof. Surjeet Kaur, convener Student Welfare Committee. The ceremony was concluded with shanti path & distribution of Prasad.

The Student Welfare Committee of Doaba College Jalandhar celebrated "Teachers' Day" under the dynamic leadership of Dr. Pardeep Bhandari,Principal of the college. The coordinators of the event Prof. Surjeet Kaur and Prof. Sonia Kalra along with the chief guest Dr. Pardeep Bhandari began the event with the lighting of lamp. The students expressed their emotions & respect with cultural events & fun activities for their teachers. Principal Dr. Pardeep Bhandari laid stress on the emotional intelligence aspect of the teacher. He said that the emotional quotient of the teacher is more important than the intelligence quotient.He congratulated all the teachers on this special day & thanked all the students for making this event memorable.

Doaba College celebrated 75th Independence Day with fervour and enthusiasm. The event was marked by flag hoisting, by Principal Dr. Pardeep Bhandari along with the NCC cadets, students and staff members. The proud moment was followed by the National Anthem. Principal, Dr. Pardeep Bhandari, invoked the pride of nationalism by stressing upon 'dedication & discipline'.
He appealed for ' Collective Consciousness for Collective Excellence'. Stressing upon the same he said," We would be independent in true sense, only, if instead of isolated progress we aim for collective development which can be achieved only with honesty and devotion." He applauded the enthusiasm of the students and staff members and wished that they would maintain the same sentiment throughout their lives.
The patriotic songs, dances and speeches by students made all to re-experience the spirit of patriotism and honour the glorious past of our country. NCC cadets, students, teachers and non teaching staff of the college saluted the national flag and honored the memories of the martyrs who achieved us the freedom. The Co ordinators of Doaba College Student Welfare Committee Ms. Surjit Kaur and Ms. Sonia Kalra along with the team members, organised this glorious event.

“Love you Papa”, an online Father’s Day Celebration was organised by the Student Welfare Committee, Doaba College, Jalandhar. The enthusiastic participation of fathers of the students added an incredible charm to the entire event. Ms. Sonia Kalra, Convenor, Student Welfare Committee, Doaba College, formally welcomed the attendees in a poetic manner.
Dr. Pardeep Bhandari, Principal, Doaba College, while sharing the screen with his father Sh. Jagmohan Bhandari, said that if mother teaches us patience, father adds strength and confidence in our lives, making everything achievable. It is with his involvement in our lives that every child can reach the pinnacle.
Students presented a dance performance and expressed love for their fathers through handmade cards and letters. Participants were enthralled with fun- games like ‘Stepping Generation’ and ‘Chupe Rustam Papa’, and ‘Sarvagun Sampann. Father’s of students also shared their experiences of witnessing their child’s progressive journey in this institution.

Event Title - THANK YOU MOM (Mother’s Day Celebration)

Student Welfare Committee of Doaba College, Jalandhar celebrated an online mother’s day event with the theme, ‘Thank you Mom’. There was a formal welcome of all the mothers by Prof. Surjeet Kaur, convener of Student Welfare Committee and acclaimed that God bestowed all of us with a mother so that we can be taken care of in the best way with utmost affection.
In the event, Principal Dr. Pardeep Bhandari was also present along with his respected mother Mrs. Kusum Bhandari ji. Principal Sir in his welcome address said that mother day is a special day for all the children as it celebrates the bond of everlasting love and affection between a child and mother. He motivated students for selfless love and respect towards their mothers. To mark the beginning of the occasion, Mrs. Kusum Bhandari ji sang a spiritual song to seek the blessings of God for everyone.
There was a melodious song performance and also a few fun games especially for mothers were organized, all the mothers participated with full enthusiasm. Ms. Anupam Sharma, mother of student Noor and Ms. Ritu Sharma, mother of Aarushi crowned with the titles of ‘Bollywood Queen’ and ‘Wisdom Queen’ respectively.
Event Title - An Interactive Session with Worthy Principal

Student welfare committee of Doaba College organized an Online Interactive session between the worthy Principal, Dr. Pardeep Bhandari and Class Representatives. Prof. Sonia Kalra, Convenor, welcomed all and congratulated the students on being selected as class representatives. She explained to students and members the importance of the Student Welfare Committee which is an excellent platform to discuss various academic and non-academic affairs of the students.
Principal, Dr. Pardeep Bhandari encouraged the young and dynamic class representatives to work with their teachers actively. He stressed that the role and responsibility of a class representative is not only confined to his/her institute but also towards the nation. The students should set high standards of character, personality, community service and leadership. For this the students need to be aware of their rights and duties and act as agents and carriers of change. He shared the vital mantra of ‘Learn-Create-Grow and Enjoy’ and highlighted his future plan of action for the overall personality development of students and placement. He expected students to be encouraged, disciplined, self-motivating and carry a sense of belongingness for the college. The class representatives also shared their problems and suggested positive changes in the various spheres.

On the occasion of “Mother’s Day”, an online Recitation Competition (Poetry/ Shayari) on “My Mother” was organised by the Student Welfare Committee of Doaba College. This audio-video recitation competition witnessed incredible registrations by seventy-five students from various departments. The finest thirteen recitations were shortlisted on the basis of content, articulation, voice modulation and presentation etc. and were uploaded on official youtube channel of Doaba College to compete further to gather maximum likes and views. Shabhnam (BAJMC Sem IV) bagged the first prize; Randeep kaur (BCom. Sem VI), Meetali (BAJMC Sem VI), Jivesh Rampal (MAJMC Sem IV) bagged Second Prize; Tania (BCom Sem IV), Pragati (BAJMC Sem VI) won Third Prize. Consolation Prizes were awarded to Monia (BA Sem II), Minal Jaggi (BA B.Ed Sem VI), Alisha (BA B.Ed Sem VI).
