Department of Extra Curricular Activities (ECA), Doaba College, Jalandhar organized a Slogan Writing Competition on the theme “Future of Work: Industry 4.0, Innovation & 21st Century Skills” as per the guidelines issued by Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar regarding Y-20 Summit being organized by Department of Youth Affairs, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India on 28th February 2023 under theleadership of Dr. Avinash Bawa, Dean, ECA. Dr. Pardeep Bhandari, principal of the college, presided over the event. The students belonging to different departments of the college viz. Education, Commerce, Computer Science and Information Technology, Journalism and Mass Communication, Tourism and Hotel Management and Basic Sciences enthusiastically participated in the event and expressed their feelings on the given theme in the form of slogans.Ankit Sharma, a student of B.Com Sem IV bagged the first position. The second position went to Pooja of BA B. Ed. Sem IV. The third position was jointly shared by Abdul Rehman B.Com Sem VI and Anushka Kamal B.Sc. Medical Sem VI. Dr. Pardeep Bhandari, principal of the college, especially visited the Art and Craft Laboratory (Department of Education) and motivated the participants. He congratulated Dr. Avinash Bawa, Dean, ECA and the faculty members for organizing this Slogan Writing Contest on such an important and relevant themes emphasizing global uncertainty and its impacts on job market, shift from job seekers to self-employed, entrepreneurs and job creators, optimizing and organizing the primary sector, innovations in technology and job security, standardization of skills across different sectors, and Industry 4.0. He expressed the hope that the Department of Extra Curricular Activities (ECA) will continue to organize such activities in future as well.
