Students are important stakeholders in any college and their feedback helps in improvement and it also paves the way for the growth of the college. Therefore every year Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of the college gets feedback from the students through a questionnaire. This year also a questionnaire was framed and distributed among 418 students. These students were selected from a wide array of streams by applying the technique of random sampling. The questionnaire or feedback Proforma contained 20 questions regarding curriculum, teaching-learning evaluation, physical facilities, student-support system suggestions for improvements etc. After analyzing the information obtained from the questionnaire, the following important points were obtained
- Course availability and Reputation of teachers of the college are the two important factors that induce the students to take admission in this college. More than 82 percent of the students have taken admission in this college due to these two important characteristics of the college.
- As far as the rating of the academic contents is concerned, 51.4 percent students have rated it as very good and 42.5 percent students have rated it as good. It means that about 94 percent students are satisfied with the academic content in the college.
- 4 percent students have reported that their interaction with faculty is either very good or good. Regarding the aspect of returning assignments by the teachers to students, 93.2 percent students say that their assignments are returned in time by the teachers. 92.9 percent students are satisfied with the fairness of evaluation system in the college.
- This college has adopted a student centric approach in teaching-learning process. The system of curriculum delivery keeps students at the centre of learning process. In teaching-learning methodology, contribution of lecture method was the highest (55 percent). The role of other methods like reading text-books, practical-work/assignments, discussions, field work and computer/internet was 45 percent.
- Majority of the students have expressed their satisfaction regarding the adequacy of different facilities like transport, healthcare, recreational and sports, canteen, library, laboratories, hostel and mess facility (for resident students only) in the college.
- In the last few years, the college has spent large amount of money in establishing a sound IT related infrastructure. Students are also satisfied with the computer facilities provided to them in the college. More than 60 percent of the students have rated the computer facilities provided to them in the college as very good or good.
The analysis of student feedback proforma also reveals that more than 70 percent students have responded that their grievances are always or most of the times attended. Moreover, students are also satisfied with the administrative staff of the college. More than 90 percent of the students have mentioned that whenever they have approached the administrative office, it is either very helpful or helpful.
