NSS unit of Doaba College Jalandhar under the banner of “Ek Baharat Shreshtha Bharat” government of India Programme organized Tree Plantation drive on July 25 2022. Twenty five NSS volunteers four NSS Programme officers Dr. Arshdeep Singh NSS Coordinator Prof. Sukhvinder Singh Coordinator “Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat” participated in the event and planted twenty five trees of Amaltas Gulmohar and Bottle Brush in Doaba College Campus. Principal Dr. Pardeep Bhandari encouraged the participants to adopt trees and become their caretakers. He also explained the aesthetic value associated with flowering trees and how these trees add to the beautification of campus. Dr. Arshdeep Singh coordinator NSS also motivated students to plant trees in their societies so as to increase green cover. Dr. Rakesh Kumar Department of Botany explained to the participants the flowering time and nutrient requirement of these trees.
