International Seminar at Doaba College,Jalandhar

Tilte: The need to understand globalization through the Indian knowledge- tradition”

An International Seminar entitled “Challenge of Globalization and Punjabi Literature” was organized by the Post Graduate Punjabi Department of Doaba College Jalandhar on 04.04.2022 in the College Seminar Hall.The chief guest was Padma Shri Dr. Surjit Patar and Presided over by Mr. Dhruv
Mittal, Treasurer of Doaba College of Management.

The beginning of the seminar Principal Dr. Pardeep Bhandari Ji welcomed the visiting scholars, delegates and students and expressed his happiness over the fact that the students will be able to listen to Great writers and scholars in this seminar.

The scholars who presented their research papers on the subject at the event were Prof. Bhim Inder Singh from Punjabi University, Patiala. , Dr. Manjinder Singh from Guru Nanak Dev University Amritsar and Canadian poet journalist Smt. Navjot Kaur Dhillon and Punjabi poet Smt.Surjit Kaur from
Canada also specially attended the seminar.

In this international seminar, researchers have done a valuable job of analyzing the current context of globalization challenges with historical references. These scholars were of the view that the very foundations of Indian culture are capable of responding to all sorts of challenges so that even the challenges of globalization could find new valuable ways to communicate with contemporary conditions,There is a need to be able to tackle the challenges of globalization even in the light of the Gyan tradition.

In this seminar, Dr. Surjit Patar shared his valuable thoughts with the audience and scholars, he also shared the basics of how poetry emerges from his personal experiences. The seminar reached its climax with the creation process. Surjit Patar presented poema in Taranam.

Dr.Ominder Johal thanked all the scholars who attended the seminar and at the same time assured them that similar seminars of national and international level would be organized in future also. The seminar was attended by students, researchers and delegates from various colleges and universities.
