Under the aegis of Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat, PG Department of Journalism & Mass Communication, organized a one-day Inter-Department News Reading Competition for final year students of under-graduate classes on April 29, 2022 at 12.00 noon in Yash Raj studios. It was a multi-lingual event in which students from various departments participated and made it successful. The students were judged on the basis of pronunciation, dress code, and voice modulation.
In English news reading section, the first position was bagged by Jyotika (B.com), second position was won by Divanshu(BA B.Ed ) and third position by Parul (Bsc Non-Medical).
In Hindi Language Meenal (BA B.Ed) Raja (BCA) and Tushar (B.com) won the first, second and thirds positions respectively. In Punjabi Language Harmandeep (Bsc Economics), Gurdeep (MA English) and Gaurav (Bsc Medical) won the first, second and third positions respectively.
Principal Dr. Pardeep Bhandari appreciated the efforts of the department in creating such an opportunity for students from various departments. While congratulating the winners, he motivated the students to fulfill their duties towards the nation with full honesty.
Prof. Sukhwinder Singh, Co-ordinator, Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat, Doaba College, apprised the students of the aims of this project. We are to workto enhance interaction & promote mutual understanding between people of different areas.
Dr. Simran Sidhu, Head PG Department of Journalism & Mass Communication, thanked Principal Dr. Pardeep Bhandari & Prof Sukhwinder Singh for their support. She said that the department in future would carry out activities to promote a sustained and structured cultural connect in the college to enhance language learning, culture, traditions and sharing of best practices. Twenty nine students from various departments registered for the competition. The event was conducted by the students of PG Department of Journalism & Mass Communication.
Ms. Priya Chopra, Ms. Niharika, Ms. Shaina were also present during the event.
