Alumni Meet was organized for teachers working in various schools by the Alumni Association of Doaba College Jalandhar in seminar hall on 12 th March 2022 in which about 60 principals and teachers from various educational institutions participated. The program started with lighting of the knowledge lamp. The Chief guest, Shri Harish Gupta, Member, Doaba College, Managing Committee and Guest of Honor, Professor M. C Sidhu, Department of Botany, Punjab University, Chandigarh graced the occasion with their esteemed presence. The guests were welcomed with saplings by Principal Dr. Pardeep Bhandari, Dr. Avinash Bawa, organizing secretary and Dr. Suresh Mago, Co-Organizing Secretary of Doaba College Alumni Association. In his welcome address, Dr. Avinash Bawa, introduced many dignitaries who have studied from the college. Dr. Pardeep Bhandari, in his address, said that Doaba College is a family and the happiness of the family is incomplete without the loved ones. The
alumni, who have passed out from here, are very important for the college even today, he added.
Shri Sukhdev Lal Babbar, Principal Government School, Alampur Bakra recalled his days spent in this college. Prof. M.C. Sidhu, Department of Botany, Panjab University, Mr. Gulshan Kumar, Government School Ladhewali, Mr. Pawan Kapil, Lecturer, Labbhu Ram Doaba Sen. Sec School, Mr. Jasveer Singh, Principal Government Girls Sen. Sec. School, Laroya, Mrs. Sunita Rani, Lecturer, Government Sen. Sec. School, Khambra also shared their memories. The website for Doaba College Alumni, designed by Sh. Rajiv Rai, Founder and Manging Director AR International Holdings Ltd., UK was launched by the Principal of Doaba College. Professor Gursimran Singh gave detailed information about this website.
The chief guest of the program, Shri Harish Gupta, in his address, emphasized the role of teacher in strengthening human relationships. Dr. Pardeep Bhandari felicitated the Chief Guest, Dr. Harish Gupta, Guest of Honor, Professor Mr. M.C Sidhu, Mr. Sukhdev Lal Babbar, Mr. Jasveer Singh with mementos. Many fun games like Tongue Twister, Quiz etc. were also played for the teachers who attended the programme. The students of the college presented cultural program through Bhangra, Giddha, Geet etc. The stage was conducted by Professor Priya Chopra and Professor Neha Gupta. The event concluded with the vote of thanks by Dr. Suresh Mago.
